Real-world laboratory Bad Lauchstädt
A real-world laboratory for generating, storing, transporting and using green hydrogen
In the Reallabor Energiepark Bad Lauchstädt we are working together with partners to examine the entire value chain, from the generation through to the transport, storage and use of green hydrogen. The repurposing of the first of our natural gas lines for the transportation of pure hydrogen will start in 2021. This project, in collaboration with our partner companies, lays the foundation for a strong and forward-looking hydrogen region in central Germany—and for successful sector interconnection beyond the borders of central Germany. The project was recognised at the highest level by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs, which announced its inclusion as a future “Real-world laboratory of the energy revolution”.
